Apple releases new 13" and 11" MacBook Airs

Apple MacBook Air is available in 11.6" and 13.3" flavors. The new models are even thinner than previous Airs and offer flash memory storage for quicker performance, better battery life, and instant-on capabilities. Four models are available:

- 11" 1.4GHz/2GB/64GB: $999
- 11" 1.4GHz/2GB/128GB: $1199
- 13" 1.86GHz/2GB/128GB: $1299
- 13" 1.86GHz/2GB/256GB: $1599

2GB of memory is standard across the board, while an additional 2GB for a total of 4GB is available for an extra $100. The MacBook Air SuperDrive is available for $79. All models come with NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics. The 13" MacBook Air features a 1.86GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, while the 11" model features a 1.4GHz version.

Apple's 2010 lineup of new iPods includes a new iPod shuffle, new iPod nano with touch, and a new iPod touch with the retina display plus front & rear cameras.

The new 2010 iPod touch features a retina display, Apple's A4 processor, front and rear cameras, and is thinner than the previous generation. The new touch starts at $229 for the 8GB model, $299 for the 32GB touch, and $399 for the 64GB model.

The new 2010 iPod nano features a new square form factor with a clip plus an all-new touch display. Price points remain the same as the previous models, with an 8GB nano at $149 and a 16GB model available for $179. The nano includes similar features as the previous model, such as Nike integration and an FM radio tuner, but in a much smaller form and with a touch display. Several colors are available.

The new 2010 iPod shuffles return to its second-generation squarish form factor with front-facing clickwheel-style buttons and a clip on the back. The 2GB model sells for $49. Five different colors are available.

HP Netbooks starting at $299 this season

HP Netbooks are available this Holiday shopping season starting at $299, or about $100 cheaper than last year. Some models are on sale for $279 with 10.1" displays, Windows 7, and 160GB hard drives. A popular alternative for those who wish to have a small laptop.

New, sleeker Mac mini

Apple released an updated Mac mini in June 2010 redesigned from the ground up. The new model is now 1.4" thick and includes an HDMI port as well as an SD slot. The bottom is removable allowing access to the hard drive and memory slot.

Apple is offering a 2.4GHz model for $699 as well as a 2.66GHz Server model for $999. The new models ship with Nvidia GeForce 320M graphics, and build-to-order options include up to 8GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.
